Know what the September edition is for
The official programme describes Maison&Objet Pulse as a September edition built around design in motion, with bold, sensitive and sustainable perspectives across seven sectors. Decor & Design and Fine Craft are especially relevant contexts for studying how rugs interact with furniture, lighting, objects, craftsmanship and complete interior schemes.
Use the fair to observe direction and context rather than to copy isolated products. Note how scale, texture, shape and material support a room concept, retail story or hospitality application. The event’s official information should remain the source for dates, venue, tickets and programme changes.
Prepare a one-page rug brief before travelling
List the intended customer or project, room type, target dimensions, preferred construction, material direction, surface character and expected performance. Add practical questions about sampling, tolerances, testing, delivery timing, labels, barcodes and packaging. This prevents attractive displays from displacing the commercial purpose of the visit.
Private Label teams should identify where they need genuine design and specification development. White Label buyers should define which proven product foundations may be adapted through size, colour, finish, branding or packaging. Interior designers should add floor plans, installation constraints and the relationship with surrounding finishes.
Capture evidence, not only photographs
Where photography is permitted, pair each image with the exhibitor or source, hall or stand, date and a short explanation of what matters. Record whether the interest is colour proportion, weave, pile height, edge treatment, irregular shape, material contrast or placement within an interior. A picture without these notes is difficult to translate into development.
For a rug concept, ask what can actually be specified: fibre and yarn, construction, density or weight, dimensions and tolerance, backing, finishing, care, intended use and available testing evidence. Inspiration can remain broad; the production brief must become precise.
Qualify the sourcing route before requesting samples
A useful first conversation establishes manufacturing location, development capability, the difference between Private Label and White Label options, communication ownership, sample stages, QC checkpoints and export scope. Confirm which claims and documents can be supported for the exact product and buyer programme rather than relying on general company language.
Buyer-specific OEKO-TEX or GoodWeave requirements should be discussed only where applicable to the programme. The same principle applies to fibre composition, performance testing, country-of-origin information and sustainability statements: define the evidence needed before product claims are approved.
Turn the fair report into a development plan
Within a few working days, group observations by commercial opportunity rather than by stand. Select a small number of directions, state the customer need each one serves and assign the next decision: material trial, colour strike-off, construction sample, costing review or full prototype. Link every request to one dated specification version.
Include the packed product in the plan. Labels, barcodes, care information, protective packaging, carton marks, product photography and export documents should develop alongside the rug so that the approved concept is also ready for the buyer’s warehouse and sales channels.
Continue development with an export partner
S. Kapoor Enterprises is a third-generation B2B rug sourcing, manufacturing and export partner from Bhadohi, India, exporting since the 1980s. Its Bhadohi head office, two Bhadohi manufacturing facilities and Delhi buyer and export office coordinate Private Label and White Label development, sampling, production, QC, packaging, labelling, barcoding, photography and export handover.
The company is a member of the Carpet Export Promotion Council. Buyers and interior designers can bring fair observations or an independent design brief to the team for structured development. This article is an independent buyer guide and does not state that S. Kapoor Enterprises is exhibiting at or attending Maison&Objet Paris 2026.
